Hi,
I have a custom build solution creating and publishing new projects through
Project Server PSI (in Project Server 2007).
To get costs values into this plan I create a task and assign some Resources
(of Cost type) to that task. To each of those assignment I enter a Cost
Value. Then I create and publish this plan to Project via PSI.
It all works fine but the strange thing is that the cost values does show up
when I look at the plan in PWA but not trough Professional. (I could
understand this if the problem was the opposite - not shown in PWA but in Pro
- since this might be caused by problems with publishing the project or even
if it was not in Pro or PWA.)
My question if anyone has experience with adding Costs and CostResources
trough PSI and if there is any issues involved to get values to Professional
as well.
In Project Server 2007 SDK I can read that
" What the PSI does not do:
Cost Resources - Editing, creating, or deleting cost resources and
assignments using the Project Web service. The Resource Web service methods
can create cost resources but cannot edit them"
Does this mean I can create Cost Resources but not assign them to tasks or
costs? If so - how come I can see the costs in PWA??
Thanks very much for any feedback on this!
