PST file import error

I have a .pst file that I'm trying to import or even open in Outlook 2003,
and am getting an error that says it is not a personal folder file. I've
used the repair tool repeatedly and compressed the file to be just under 2GB
in case that's the issue, but still get the same error.

Any ideas out there as a next step?

Is there a way to export the data to excel without opening it in Outlook?

Firstly use the Open function, not import. secondly, where is this pst file
located?
