PST file missing

Jan

I used PCMover to transfer all my files/data from laptop to new desktop.
Transfer went great except for the pst file. It wouldn't transfer. I got on
live chat with PCmover and did what they suggested with no success. I've
tried everything -- putting the pst file from the old computer on a DVD and
in file sharing ... nothing worked.

I saved the pst file from the old computer on the new computer but still
couldn't import it, so I deleted the pst file. Now I can't even open Outlook
because the pst file is missing.

I have used up so much time trying to figure this thing out. My husband
also got a new computer and the transfer from old to new went beautifully
including his email.

Any help would be appreciated - I desperately need to get my email
transferred from laptop to desktop because of critical files/attachments and
updates in the email files.

Thank you!

No need to go that route and especially don't use the import function to
recover.
In short, you simply copy the pst-file from one computer to the other. Then,
once you've installed and configured Outlook with your mail account, you
reconnect the pst-file by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

At this point, you've corrupted your current mail profile by deleting the
main pst-file associated with mail profile. To recover, you must start of
with a new mail profile.
