.pst file not compatible with current version of personal folder

I recently left a job where I was using Outlook 2006 and wanted to keep my
Contacts. I copied them to a flash drive as a .pst file. When I try to
import them into my home computer which uses Outlook 2002 I get this error
message.

The file **** .pst is not compatible with this version of the personal
folders information service. Contact our administrator.

Is there anything that I can do to fix this issue? Do I need to upgrade my
Outlook to a newer version?

There is no Outlook 2006. The error message answered your question
correctly.
