.pst file problem - limited access

Please bare with me as I'm new to outlook (we're a eudora shop). I have a
user who after we upgraded to win2k3 server from a winnt 4.0 server has not
been able to completely use her outlook file. Although she can see her
contacts, she can't edit them and the automatic fill in doesn't work anymore.
(the required boxes are checked)

I have a feeling it has something to do with permissions, because initially
when I set up her account she could not open the file at all, once I changed
her domain permissions she was able to open the pst file (which resides on
her computer). This doesn't make a lot of sense to me as she is the admin of
her computer.

What is the best way to alleviate this problem while keeping all her
contacts/calendar events/mailboxes, etc.?

The autcompletion cache (that suggests names as you type them in a recipient
field) is not tied to the Contacts folder in any way. It is a separate file
whose name matches the mail profile name and whose extension is .NK2 and
which is found in %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook.

How did you configure Outlook to use the PST and where did you put the file?

Thanks for your reply. I found that out a couple of weeks ago and copied her
nk2 file into the proper directory, but that didn't seem to do any good. She
really need her contacts list that pops up in a new email when you click the
address book icon. Right now when she does that it tells her that she
doesn't have permission to open the file, although as I said she can go and
look at it in contactcs.

Also if she has a distribution list in contacts, it doesn't work in the to
field of a letter. Considering her pst file is over 900mb, there are quite
anumber of contacts/lists she can't get to!
