PST file size in office 2007

I have a PC running Office 2007 and previously had a problem with the pst
file, reporting corrupt. I fixed this with scanpst.exe and everything worked
fine after that. The file size at that point was 4.50GB.
It has worked OK for a couple of months but now has failed again. The file
size has risen to 5.25GB.
Does anyone know if there is a limit for the pst in outlook 2007? I know
there was 2GB limit in outlook 2003, but have no idea about 2007.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Size isn't the issue other than you are using a lot of drive space, I
would start checking that HD for signs of failure. Download an run a
diagnostic utility from the drive manufacturers web site. If it
indicates trouble, replace the drive pronto.

So, hard drive space permitting, i can have an outlook 2007 .pst file of
100GB???

Yes
Theoretical limit in the order of Tb, not Gb
Allthough why you would want to keep a single pst in access of several gb,
thats for you to decide

Thanks DL. It was more of a theoretical question to satisfy my curiosty,
rather than me having a pst file that big!! I would not dare.

Anyway going back to the reason i posted the question;
The pst file i was having problems with seems to have been repaired by using
the scanpst.exe utility. So fingers crossed it will survive a bit longer, or
at least long enough for me to archive.

Thanks guys.

You might want to consider running 'scanpst' once a month to repair -- this
should preclude it reaching the point of failure.
