PST files not working?

I've just completed a format and reinstall. Office 2003
was reinstalled without a hitch until I tried to import
the old office.pst and archive.pst files I had saved.
I'm getting this error message:

"The file Outlook.pst is not compatible with this version
of the Personal Files Information Service. Please
contact your administrator."

Can someone please help? I really need that import to
work. Thanks in advance

Sounds like an installation problem. Microsoft gives free
support on installation problems. I'd give them a call.
