pst files

I have created a .pst then tried to change the program
that opens a file! It has affected all files that have the
same file name extension and now I cannot reverse it!

Does it make a difference? or is it still a back up file?

Change it back to Outlook.
Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types
