.PST Import not working

I've just completed a format and reinstall. Office 2003
was reinstalled without a hitch until I tried to import
the old office.pst and archive.pst files I had saved.
I'm getting this error message:

"The file Outlook.pst is not compatible with this version
of the Personal Files Information Service. Please
contact your administrator."

Can someone please help? I really need that import to
work. Thanks in advance

I should add that I'm a former beta tester for Office
2003 and it's the beta CD I used for the reinstall.
Don't know for sure if it makes a difference, however.

Have you tried File->Open? Importing is a sure-fire method for losing
information, such as received dates, connections between contacts and
journal, and custom forms.
