PST in server share?

Is it supported to have my PST file in a redirected folder on a server share
, and then make that remote folder available offline and then use EFS to
encrypt Offline folder.

We are talking about Vista and office 2007 with SP1

Nope. Also, don't forget the sync overhead you would create by making it
offline available. You would sync the entire pst-file at logoff which could
result in very long logoff times and my look like a logoff "hang".
Disrupting that procedure could result in a loss of the entire pst-file.

If Vista supports the same line as Windows XP, I would say no.

Reasons:
1) Microsoft does not recommend or support the use of PST files from network
drives. (Leads to corruption and flakey network experience)

2) The offline redirector doesn't replicate certian file types by default
(e.g. DB?, MDB, LDB, PST, .etc)

My suggestion is to keep the file local in a "data" folder and then back it
up occasionally to a network drive when Outlook is closed.

Enterprise solution?

Honestly, it'd be to roll out a Policy in the Active Directory to prevent
users from using a PST file and enforce some level of age limitations for
purposes of legal discoverability, and for data that needs to be stored for
long term (which email should never be, but contacts might be), a sharepoint
site/public folder structure.

PSTs are great for home use, but in a big business, they're very dangerous.

Imagine you did something of questionable legality a few years ago. There
was a long email thread about it, but since all mail should be removed after
6 months, it shouldn't exist. But, because one user put all their mail in
a pst, opposing counsel can subpoena all the HDs in your organization and
hey, look at that, proof that you knew what you were doing. But, IANAL,
so, whatever. =)
