Pst Limit

I'm working on an Outlook 2000. I copied the compromised Pst (2,
097,136) to another computer to work on it. I ran scanpst. Clean, no
errors.

I don't know what to do to recover the data, folders, and so forth. If
I could export, folder by folder, to a dbx format I could eventually
have all the folders and all the database in manageable chunks.

I am unable to export to csv, excel. I get errors. I can export to Pst
but I'd end up with over 2GB.

Is there a way to possible divide the Outlook materials in half? Where
I would have instead of one 2GB plus Pst possibly two 1GB Pst files?
I'm 'thinking out loud' as I never expected to run into this
difficulty. There's no warning stating 'Do Not Grow PST to 2GB'.

Let me know what options I have where I can to a few chores to save
this data while Outlook allows me to work within the application.

Thanks

I need to add on please help
What I did with the Pst @ 2gb was in Outlook I created 3 new Pst. Now
I have outlook.pst 1.pst 2.pst 3.pst folders viewable in Outlook 2000.
I copied into 1.pst Folders A-F ; 2.pst G-O ; 3.pst P-Z.
I haven't done anything since the MOVE from Inbox to 1,2,3. In Windows
Explorer I shows Outlook.pst @2gb and the other three with about
400mb. What I can't figure out is why the original Outlook.pst didn't
shrink as the 1,2,3 and pst were populated the the moved folders?

I thought I'd end up with four pst around 500mb?
Thanks

You have to compact the pst, and have removed a significant amount of data
before the size will be decreased

Right-click the root of the original PST fro mwhich you've moved the messages,
choose Properties, then click Advanced. You should see a "Compact Now"
button. Click it.
