pub 03 - how to access web pages

C

coroname

Our Organization has a "webmaster" that created our web page and publishes it
with Publisher 2003. From time to time I need to adjust or add things to the
website; is there a way for me to access the web and make changes without
having to have the webmaster email me the pages she created?

You'd need Publisher and the pub files she created.
Then you'd somehow have to coordinate your changes with each
other...swapping files back and forth so you stay in sync.

This is easier with a real web editor btw.

Thank you for your quick response. Do you have any suggestions for a "real
web editor" that is user friendly for a novice?

Expression Web, Dreamweaver, etc. HOWEVER...Publisher created webs are
impossible to edit with any web editor - you'd have to re-do your website
design in a real web editor first, which may not be an option for you (?).

...."user friendly for a novice"????? I have never heard that description
applied to Expression Web or Dreamweaver <g>....

couldn't think of any that are temporary user/nooby friendly...besides it's
really not a viable option for coroname to edit Pub code anyway.

True. I didn't mean to suggest that part of your answer was incorrect. I was
just kidding you about the user friendly aspect of using either Expression
Web or Dreamweaver.

Rob,

The new version of WebPlus (which is easier than DreamWeaver of
Expressions to learn) has sort of a CMS. That's going to be mandatory if
the person wants others to be able to update sites (short of using an
iframe linked to another site).

I've been meaning to buy it, but lost Natasha's last offer...just wanna mess
around with it.
