Pub 2000 pagination question

Howdy all..

Pub 2000
Been a while since I've done a booklet (actually a theater program)
32 pages including the cover
8 1/2 x 11 book fold so it would be 8 1/2 x 5.5

I'm just blocking in all the adverts and basic stuff for rough positioning
now. But was curious how it would output to PDF, it does but it's not
paginated correctly.

1,2,31,32 are correct for printer, the rest are not. They read correctly for
working on it in Publisher (which is fine while I' working on it), but how
does it get paginated for the printer? What am I doing incorrectly? I need
to re-understand this before I get too deep in the layout.

I'm doing a booklet twice that size and it generates a correct .pdf file.
I'm also doing an 8 page booklet the same size as yours and it's fine. I
suspect there's something goofy in your .pdf settings.

I set it up as book fold in Pub right?
I don't see any settings in Acrobat (Im using 4) that could affect this...of
course I could be mistaken.
I don't have a two side printer, so I may be getting confused, but when I
print it out and put the pages together and fold it its all caca.

page numbers are not outputting when I print to the pdf. I actually ended up
printing it and folding it to double check.

Wonder why page numbers on the background page are not going to the pdf??
