PUB 2000/W2000 - MSPUB.exe ERROR

Last week, I get this error
message when I just closed the first screen wizar:

"MSPUB.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error
log has been created."

This is Publisher 2000 installed on a Windows 2000 PC. I
uninstalled publisher and re-installed it. Iy is my
understanding that a pubole32.dll should be there
"some where" unfortunately I can not find it and I do not
know where to place it if I got it.

The file you are wanting is not part of Publisher 2000. Do you have all the updates
for Windows 2000 and Publisher 2000?
Check your printer driver, open Publisher in safe mode, if the error is absent, go to
the manufacturer's web site and look around for a newer driver. Publisher is critical
about printer drivers.

Dear Mary.

Thank you for your advise, unfortunately it did not
work, the printer drivers that I have are the most
recent ones.

Just remember that it was working before, if there
is something wrong it will be a corrupted file or
deleted file.

I ran again the installation procedure to repair
publisher, but it did not help anyway.

Is there anything else that I may try ?

Try to open the publication in safe mode. It is possible for drivers to become
corrupt. If the publication opens in safe mode, it will be a driver, check out the
graphics driver too.
