Public calendar events posting to private calendar

Hi

We are using Exchange 2K and Outlook 2K client. There are a few public
calendars setup up in the public folder.

A user with Author permissions is going through a public folder deleting
events that were cancelled. Each time she goes into an event, the event
gets published to her private calendar along with other users calendars she
may have opened at the time.

In the past this has never happened. It does not happen on other calendars
with the same permission setting. I've search high and low for an answer on
knowledge base, tech net, this newsgroup, google searches.

Any help is greatly appreciated
