Public Documents Access Problem

I have project server 2003 running on WIndows 2003 server with Sharepoint
Services. From web, I can see documents but have problem in accessing "Public
Documents". When I try to access public documents link it says following:

The documents, risks and issues features in Project Web Access use Windows
SharePoint Services.
A Windows SharePoint Services site needs to be created for your project
before you can share project documents or track project risks and issues.
Site creation takes a few minutes, so if the project was just published, wait
a few minutes and then visit the page again. Otherwise, contact your server
administrator.

No errors are found in event log or anywhere. Please let me know if any of
you faced the similar problem and how you fixed it ?

I did all that already and actually , finally Microsoft came back after 3
months and suggested us the solution.

Hey Walsh,

Here is the solution which worked for us:

1. BACK UP all Public Folder Document first.

We clearly saw that Public Documents template is not the default Project
Server Public Documents template. This appears to be root cause of the
issue. Also, It does not appear that versioning is being used. It should be
very easy to back up these documents for later restore to the repaired
production Project Server Public Documents site.

Here is the corrected action plan;
AFTER BACKING UP ALL PUblic DOcuments :

1) At a command prompt on the server hosting Windows SharePoint Services,
enter in the following;

stsadm -o deletesite -url
http://<servername>/sites/MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments

Press Enter to delete the subweb.

2) Run WSSWIZ and use the option Configure additional Windows SharePoint
Services Web sites from the server running Windows SharePoint Services.
Complete the wizard.

3) In Project Web Access, Admin, Manage Windows SharePoint Services, Connect
to SharePoint server, click Save Changes.
