public documents using server name and not URL

How can I get the sharepoint site created for the public documents to open up
using a full url instead of the server name. My users are on the internet
using a full URL, so the server name will not resolve, etc.

I have all the extranet information filled in. PWA will not let me change
the SharePoint URL tot he full address (might be due to being behind NAT and
using a proxy server??)

Simon,

1) Add Server extranet address on bottom of Admin > Server Configuration page

2) Add SharePoint Extranet Address in PWA > Admin > Manage Windows
Sharepoint Services.

3) Make sure the port on which sharepoint is hosted on your server is
accessibly for external users.

Try that.

I have already done all of these things. But when using the extranet address
to access PWA all is well untill you access the public documents and then the
inetranl server name is used. ??

Hi,

It does the same thing for me and I already did exactly what Faisal says
with no effect.
It seems that nobody knows how to work around this issue, although it should
not be any issue. Web is the most common use of Project Server isn't it?

Anyway, if you find any fix for this, post it please.

Try to access your sharepoint site directly with correct external URL. See if
it is accessible.

It seems like there are hard coded page with sservername in url. So when an
external person tries to access such pages , that page gives error.

Well if you are using Microsoft ISA firewall then you can use 'Link
Translation' feature to convert internal urls (if any) to external when
external users tries to access your published site. I've tried that
successfully for other applications, not with PWA.
