Public Folder – Anonymous

Mary Ann

When I create a public folder, I see myself as the Owner along with Default
and Anonymous. I understand that everyone for whom I don’t set specific
permissions will have the Default permissions. What is the point of
anonymous? How is it different from Default???

Confused.

For anonymous you don't have to log in; for default you do. You can give
anonymous different permissions from default - for example if you want
this public folder to receive e-mails from the Internet.

My further question
So if I just wanted the public folder to be available to people logged in to
Outlook on the network, would it be OK to set the permissions for Anonymous
to None?

Yes. Or just remove the Anonymous permission group entirely.
