public folder contacts

I have a client who is trying to view a public folder
contacts list as an e-mail address book. The 15 other
users within his organisation have all had no problem
right clicking on the contacts list and selecting 'show
this folder as an e-mail address book'. However when he
tries this, he is not able to check or uncheck the box.

Anyone have any ideas as i have tried all i can think off.
