Public Folders appear as emails rather than contacts

We have upgraded 1 Mac to OS X and Office X but when
viewing the global contacts database, Ent X views them as
emails?

Any ideas how to resolve this?

I just responded to another similar post ... here is what I wrote there ...

first of all, no you cannot access the GAL in Entourage, in the same way as
you do in any version of Outlook on PC. The reason is that Outlook on PC
uses MAPI/RPC/TCP/IP based connection to Exchange and Global Catalog Server,
while Entourage does not use MAPI/RPC, rather it uses LDAP based access,
which does not provide browse feature of a container, you can only execute
queries against such a container, which you are accessing thru LDAP
protocol.
