Public Folders

Currently I work in an environment where we use OL2003 on Exchange 2003. I
also manage a team mailbox via a public folder.

Can anyone inform me of where public folders are going in future versions,
really 2007 + 1 version if anyone is able to answer. I have heard that
public folders will not be used in the current way and keen to understand how
the management of such team mailboxes will be managed in future versions.

Any information gratefully received.
