I designed a 14 page website with pub 2007 and cannot get the whole site
uploaded, only my home page appears with broken links to the rest of the
pages. I tried to referred to the links given in the discussions to fnd my
mistake but those sites are currently not working. I am using cute ftp to
upload, have uploaded index files and folders, but still not getting it
right! Please help!

Usually this means that you did not upload all the html output. Publisher
2007 at its default settings produces an index.htm file (the home page) and
an index_files folder that contain the other pages in the site plus the
supporting graphics. Check to see if you uploaded the index_files folder,
and everything in it, to the same directory as you did the index.htm file.

If that doesn't solve your problem, please post the URL of your site.

If you mouseover the links on your home page, you will note they are
pointing to your hard drive. This is usually because you are using a Master
Page. Remove the master page and move all content to the publication pages.
Master pages should not be used in a Publisher web publication.

Run the design checker tool.

Be sure to compress all the images and graphics. Select an image and then
find the compression feature on the image tool bar.

Delete your old files on your host, Publish to the Web to produce a new
index.htm file and index_files folder and upload.

Dave, I am blonde, I dont understand what you say about removing the
masterpage. I ran the designchecker and everything there seems ok. Do you
know of someone that I can email the file to with all the ftp details so that
they can upload it for me? I am loosing money daily because my site is not
up, please help! Pretty please...

Open your document, and go to View > Master Page. If you put the anything on
a master page it will be there. All the content on the master page needs to
be moved to the main publication. If you didn't use a master page, then you
need to step back and do some reading. In fact you should do some reading
anyway...

Start here: Prepare, publish, and maintain your Publisher Web site:

If you choose to use FTP uploading then consider downloading and installing
the free FTP client FileZilla:
http://filezilla-project.org/ It is likely to be easier for you. Take the
time to also download the excellent documentation and read it.

And go to your web host and look under Support or the FAQs about how to
upload. They may have specific directions.

Then before you actually produced new html files go to Tools > Options > Web
tab and make sure the "Allow Png..." option is unchecked.

Then compress all your graphics: Compress graphics file sizes to create
smaller Web sites:

After doing your homework, Publish to the Web and upload your index.htm file
and your index_files folder.

With all due respect and no insult intended, but drop the being blonde
excuse...its demeaning. If you want to build and publish your own website,
then you need to invest some time and effort. If you don't understand
something the first time, then read it again until you do understand. If you
don't want to invest the time learning, then hire someone. We are glad to
help people help themselves...not do the work for them.

Another notation, when I save the completed website to a location (my
computer) instead of saving as 1 html file, it saves as 50+ individual
files, JPEG, Graphics Interchange Format Image, EMZ file, etc.
Shouldn't Publisher be saving the file as 1 complete html file ???
