Publish project plan in more than one server

I would like to know if we can publish the project plan (mpp file) on more
than one project server. For example, our group has one project server and
another group within our company has their own project server. For some of
the projects, we would like the project plans to be available on both project
servers.

Thanks

In theory, if the project currently exists as an .mpp file, you could import
the project into each Project Server instance (using Tools - Enterprise
Options - Import Project to Enterprise) and then publish the project. I
would caution you against doing so, however. For example, if I am a team
member in this project, there are now two copies of the project, each of
which is in a different Project Server instance. In which instance am I
supposed to report my actuals? Surely you would not expect me to enter
actuals in both instances, would you? Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for your response. Yes. I agree with you that manually importing a
mpp file is not a good option as maintaining it in two places is a nightmare.
But, I just want to know if there is any replication mechanism available to
do this.

To put it in another way, there is a master project server and satellite
(cannot think of a better word here) project servers where you update a
project file in the master server and the data gets replicated on to
satellite servers. I know, it kind of sounds complex but I would like to
understand the technical feasibility before questioning the need further.

Thanks,
seth

I am not aware of any replication mechanism that can make this happen
easily. I will gladly invite others to contribute if they know a way to
make this happen.
