Publish projects via PDS

Dan

All,

I need to publish projects programmatically in Project Server 2003. I am
currently creating tasks and assignments via PDS. I have already tried
(unsuccessfully) setting the <AutoPublish> flag and calling the
<ProjectViewTablesCreate> method upon the creation of the task and the
assignment.

Is there a method, or a sequence of methods, or a special server setting
that will force a project to publish via PDS?

If this is impossible, has anyone programmatically published projects (we
would like to do it on a nightly basis-we are importing tasks from a
third-party system) through another method? Project Professional 2003 is
also installed on the server.

Thank you.

For anyone else researching this issue,
I just received notification that it is impossible to publish a project via
pds. Basically, Project Professional does all of the work in terms of
publishing, so it must be managed via Project Pro.
Has anyone had any luck automating Project Pro 2003 from a separate
application?

Where did you get this information?

This will put a serious hole in our workflow plans if we
cannot create a project using PDS from a web app.

Any information would be appreciated.

I'm trying to do something similar, in that, we have people that forget
to publish their projects, and would like to go through every project
every evening and make sure it gets published....a web app would have
been a great way to do it, but apparently that is not possible...

has anyone written VBA code that publishes projects?
thanks for the help!
