Publish Slides to Slide Library - Failure, HELP - PP 2007

We have set up a slide library on MOSS 2007, and using the "Upload" then
clicking on "Publish Slides" we have successfully gotten a few slides
uploaded to the new library. However, 85% of our attempts have failed and we
do not know why. I am using PP 2007. If I am on the MOSS site and choose
Upload then Publish, it lets me pull up the slide decks I want, choose the
slides, choose the library, and hit publish. It then looks like it is doing
it right, but when I go to the library, the slides are not there. This
morning I re-saved all of my decks to PPTx format and tried again. The first
thing I did was a six slide deck and it worked fine, but NOTHING I have tried
since has uploaded successfully. I have four single-slide decks - one slide
only in each one - and I saved them as PPTx formats, tried publishing, and
again it looks like it is working but the slides never appear. I then went
into the deck inside PP 2007 and did a "Publish" command, chose "Publish
Slides." At that point it acts just the same as before, but it finishes with
"1 of 1 slides that were being published to <location> failed. Try
publishing again." That's it - the whole message. I have tried and tried.
I have also had another person try and try. Nothing is working. Any
suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance for your help.

I did a search of the knowledge base and the only thing I found was about
having typed the wrong url but that can't be it if it worked once... For
