publish sub projects from a master project

We have 100 or so small projects that are published in project server. I've
inserted them in to a master project that I have saved locally on my
workstation (not published). Can I publish these sub projects to the server
after making changes from the master project or do I have to go back and open
each sub project and publish them seperatly? I've tried using the Publish
all from the pull down but I get an error stating "you can't publish
non-enterprise projects" I'm assuming it's refering to the master project.


I've seen it mentioned several times that Master Projects are not
recomended. I meet with my client every week to update the completion dates
as they change constently. It's very useful to view all the subs in the
master and just make my edits that way. If I have to go back and publish all
the changes individually later it's going to be a huge pain. (our project
list continues to grow) Maybe someone has a better suggestion on how we
should be doing this?

You should not publish the master project. Instead, publish each of the
subprojects. If you wish to publish of all subprojects as a batch, download
and use the View Populator Tool for Project Server 2003, available at the
