Hi,

Click start > computer,
Right click in White space and choose "add a netwrok location".
Add the FTP folder as the network location.

once done, it will always be there
and in future either you cab directly publish/save to this location/folder
or 1st publish to your desktop, test it locally and then copy to this Network folder.

In addition to the advice from Sri Bidnoorkar, if you are not using a form
on your site that requires FrontPage Server Extensions, then I would suggest
you download and install the free FTP client FileZilla:
http://filezilla-project.org/ It is likely to be easier for you. Also
peruse the instructions on this page:
http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/documentation/

After Publishing to your local computer, you would use FileZilla to upload
to your website.

If you are using a form on your page then life has become more complicated
for you. If so post back with a link to your site and the name of your web
host.

I am having the same problem. On my laptop with XP it would load my website
with no problems, but now when I try to type in the website address (new
computer with Windows 7) it shows an error message stating that the file name
is too long or has illegal characters. I have a form on my website. It is
www.leashesoflove.org, and I use Go Daddy.

Additionally, I have just found that when viewing my website from this
computer, the links at the top and bottom of the page do not appear. I don't
have this issue on other computers.

Thanks!

Anyone using IE 8 for the browser will not see your navigation links

If you are using Publisher 2003 or earlier

Create a web site with nav bars etc.
Saved web site as "My web site.pub"
With the pub page open
Ctrl a (selects all)
Arrange > Ungroup
This insures that all groups are ungrouped
This must be done on ALL pages individually
Re-Saved using Save As "My web site NBUG.pub"
I take the step to "Save As" so that when I shut down publisher and I get a
prompt to save my changes I do NOT overwrite the master file "My web
site.pub" accidentally.
Publish to the web
FTP to the server
Web site works using IE 8

If a change, update is required or a page is added
Open with "My web site.pub"
Make changes
Follow the above suggestions
BTW NBUG = "Nav Bars Un Grouped"

If you are using Publisher 2007 try installing SP3

Jasmine,

Spike addressed the navbar issues. I do not see a form on your site. If you
do have one please provide a link to the page where I can find it. Assuming
that you do not have a form, then I would suggest that you use FileZilla to
FTP your site files as per my previous posts. You might also check the
GoDaddy support section on FTP instructions using Windows 7. Everything
changed with Vista and I suspect the same is true with Windows 7. But as I
said, if you do have a form that requires FPSE then post back with a link to
that page.
