Published Project does not create a Share Point Site

Shawn Scott

Hello,

I have successfully setup Project Server and Project Web Access with Share
Point services. The only problem I am having is when I publish a new project
to the project server and then try to use features such as "Add risks to the
project" Add Documents" I get an error saying that a Share Point Site has to
be created for this project. If I go to the Share Point Admin and manually
create a site for the project and then link it in the Project Web Access
Admin page, everything works ok. I have enabled the option to automatically
create a share point site when a new project is published. Can anyone give
me some tips as to where to look or how to solve this issue.

Thanks
Shawn

You must set automatic add project website when adding a new project ,in the
admin menu / manage windows sharepoint services / website setup / when
publisher project .....

I read somewhere that you have to make sure the Project Name that you are
uploading does not include ampersands (&) since this is a reserved character
in XML which Project Server uses.

Hi Shawn

I've set up 3 identical Project Servers on 3 identical PC images. 2 of them
created SP sites as needed the third didn't and nomatter what I tweaked in
the admin I couldn't get it to do so.
Result: I had to reinstall this one.
I'm sorry I can't come up with a sollution. In my experience the PS setup
moves in mysterious ways...

Most probably this is due to

1.Check Automatic site creation enabled in share point admin window
with all the details like emails etc..
2.You have to mentioned the same server name mentioned in sharpoint in
project professonal server accounts. If you specify ip details then it
won't create automatic sites.
