.Published?

Hi,

I'm new to MS Project and now I'm trying to publish a
project from Project Professional 2002 to Project Server
2002. What I don't understand, is that one time when I
published a project, it got the extension .Published. Why
is that? Should all published projects have the
extension .Published?

The file exentsion ".published" simply means that you have saved your
project in the Project Server database. To actually publish your project to
Project Web Access, you need to do one of the following:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - New and Changed Assignments, and click
Collaborate - Publish - Project Plan
or
2. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information

Hope this clarification helps.

Hi Fredrik,

For reference to all the Project Newsgroups, please see FAQ No 24: Project
and Project VBA Newsgroups

For Project 2002 questions, on the msnews.microsoft.com server, try these
newsgroups:

For Project 2002 Professional version:
microsoft.public.project.pro_and_server

For Project 2002 Standard version:
microsoft.public.project.standard_and_server

You are more likely to get an answer there. If you cannot access those
newsgroup, then re-post here stating that fact and we'll do our best to
help.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)
