Publisher 2002 Key ID Rejected

I have MS Office XP 2002 (preinstalled on my system by Dell). I had disabled
Publisher. Not remembering that, I tried to install Pub 2002. All seemed
OK, but...

Now when I start Pub it brings up the setup User Info screen and refuses to
accept either the new ID (from the new Pub 2002) jewel case, or the original
Office ID (from the OEM slip case).

The respective CD set numbers are:
Pub 2002: X08-06198
Office: X08-73057

Thanks for any help

Have you bought Publisher boxed, or are you trying to install from your OEM
disc?

You don't want to input the CD Set numbers, those (as far as I can see) are
all but useless.
You need the 25-character Product Key.

Make sure you're typing it correctly - check for things like Gs and 6s, and
Bs and 8s.

The "new" publisher is boxed.

The keys I'm entering are the 25 character 5 segment keys.

I only provided the CD set number in the (probably hopeless) chance it might
shed light on the underlying problem.
