Publisher 2002/SP2

Have got a rather strange issue maybe someone can shed light on.

Win2k box/SP2
Office 2000 is installed on the HD *but* I installed from the Office X
cd MS Publisher 2002 *only.* You can do this single app installatio
instead of upgrading the entire suite to Ofc XP.

I've downloaded appropriate security patches for Ofc 2k however it doe
not solve my issue.

What happens is that when Publisher is launched, I get the window
installer dialog box. Like it's installing an application. This onl
occurs when Publisher is launched. Whether I let it play out or clic
on cancel, Pub opens successfully and is functionable however it i
highly annoying to get this installer box for no apparent reason.
Can anyone suggest a resolution

Since you have Office 2000 and then Pub 2002 it sounds like you have some
file out of sync version wise. But there is not enough info in this post to
guess what file that might be. I would recommend you install Office XP
Service Packs 1 and 2. Afterwards advise accordingly.
