Several users within my company found that after we upgraded to Publisher
2003, they could not save files to a network drive. More specifically, if an
existing file is modified, it can be saved using "Save". However, if the
"Save As" command is used and the filename is changed, the following error
message appears:
"S:\Marketing\Design\Posters\flyer.pub is not a valid folder."
The server is running Netware 4.11, and I encountered a similar, but not
identical, error message when I first began using Office 2003. (Office
claimed that the destinations were read-only.) Since then, those errors seem
to have vanished. The users have full (inherited) rights to the shared
folders, except for Access Control. I've already searched the MS and Novell
Knowledge Bases, which didn't return any valid articles. Also, all Office
2003 updates/patches have been applied to these machines.
