Publisher 2003 does not retain (save) my changed default tab stop

I created a complicated form and want the default tab stop to be at 0.2" but
every time I save and then reopen the document it resets that tab stop back
to 0.5". I can only fix it by manually resetting the default tab stop every
time I open the document. Is there a way to create a template with the 0.2
tab stop and then "select all" "copy" and "paste" my existing form into my
custom template? I'm not sure how to create my own template. Very
frustrated over this.

Is your form one text box? If you have more than one text box, each one will
have to have the default tab settings changed. Do you have SP2 installed?
Templates are created by "save as" Publisher template.
