Publisher 2003: Hyperlink

When I am designing the website in publisher, it will work but when I do web
page preview or furthermore, when I put it out to .html format, the link
does not work. Please note that it does not occur for every hyperlinked
documents but for only some of them?

I am using Windows XP SP2

If you are linking to files to download the link should go to the location
on the website server. When you do a preview when the site files are on your
computer they will try to find the file on your hard drive so the link is
wrong for your computer. This is normal.

I am just trying to link it back to the main page and not to the files.
They're all in one directory. I checked the object and it shows it being
linked back to the main page but it doesn't work when I do web page preview
and I convert them to .html format.

Your question is a bit confusing. Are you talking about the navigation bar
links not working? If so, how are you trying to change the hyperlinks? Are
you using the navbar wizard, or trying to do it directly. Please be as
specific as possible in your answer.

You have used the word "button", "documents", "objects" and "pages" to
describe what you are hyperlinking, and I am left confused. Would you try to
be more specific in the details of what you are trying to do, and we'll try
to help you sort it out.

Sorry if I made it more confusing for you as I am not very familiar with the
language used in Publisher. Basically, I hyperlinked a navigation button to
go back to the main page.

You didn't answer my questions, so I will just guess that you don't know how
to insert a hyperlink.

Select the text or object > right click > hyperlink > Place in This Document

First Page.

If your issue has to do with the navbar, then you change the links via the
wizard. Click on the Navbar > wand below the navbar > Change navigation bar

Add, Remove, and reorder links...

Do not try to change the links on the navbar manually.

Thanks. I guess I really didn't know how to ask the question. ANyway, I'll

Pardon me if I am incorrect, but it sounds like English is your second
language...and Publisher is a "foreign" language ;-). I would suggest that
if the problem is with your navigation bar, then go to Help and type in
"navigation" and you will get some good information there, that you can
study at your own pace.

Please don't let my inability to understand your question keep you from
following up with additional questions, or questions using different words.
I try to read between the lines, but sometimes I just can't quite guess what
people are asking.
