Publisher 2003 text shadow colors

How do I change the color of the shadow applied to text within a document. I
have tried the Shadow button on the toolbar, but that destroys all my text by
making the textbox a solid color and blocking out the image underneath, it
also does not change the color of the shadow applied to the text within the
box. The only color shadow applied to text that I can create is grey, but
what I want to do is apply a black shadow to white text. It is a large
headline over a color background, so I want it to be white text with a black
shadow applied to the text.

You can with WordArt. There is a bit of a shadow in the font format dialog with
no choice of color.

Make two headlines, put the black text behind the white text, nudge until you
get the look you can live with.

Lonjen,

I have created a headline using WordArt in Publisher 2003. First, I created
a background and added a fill color a kind of an off orange. Then I opened
WordArt and entered the word "Headline", on the tool bar, if the Shadow
Settings tool bar is not visible, right click on a blank space on the tool
bar and click on Shadow Settings. There will be six icons, Shadow, Nudge
(the shadow) Down, Nudge Up, Nudge Left, Nudge Right and the final is the
Shadow Color. Click on the little down arrow and choose the color of your
choice. I chose Black as that is what you stated that you wanted, and the
text remains white. You may see the results here:
