I am losing transparency on Fill Effects when I choose to print to either
printer or PDF, also just on print preview. Can anyone shed any light on this
problem please?

Scenario: I am creating shapes and using Fill Effects to create Gradients
and making them transparent. When I go to print or preview these effects are
being lost.

This is a known issue that has been present since the Publisher 2002 beta.

You will occasionally find a printer driver that works. I haven't found one
yet.

In Publisher 2003 the easiest solution is to export as a PNG or TIFF file
and print this.

But the problem here is I need to print to PDF and choose a high resolution
for digital printing. So is there anyway to report this bug to MS so we can
hopefully see it fixed in the future?

Microsoft is aware of the bug.

If you export as a 300dpi PNG, then the difference is all but unnoticable on
the final copy (depending how high your printer's maximum resolution is).

I did this myself a few months ago. I exported a 300dpi PNG, re-imported
into Publisher, and then exported a composite CMYK PDF for commercial print.
The reslts were IMO indistinguishable from the pages that did not have
transparency (and so had not been treated to this process).
