publisher 2007 has changed its design to what looks like word?

my publisher that iv got on office 2007 has changed its design on its own. it
went from looking nice and modern, like office 2007 does. but when you click
on a template it only gives you the options that word has and looks old
fashioned?

Publisher does not have the ribbon. Publisher never has looked like Word.

THANK GOODNESS they didn't un-improve the toolbar for Publisther 2007.

I'm having a rough time dealing with Word 2007 -- way too much clutter on
the un-customizable toolbar & no way to put the things I *do* want to have
there! (ok, I have found the quick-link-minibar at the top & that helps but
still....)

I'm hoping they do change it with Office 2010. I haven't seen it yet so I
don't know if the ribbon interface has been added.

Publisher hasn't enough diversity to have the ribbon.

There's a solitaire game that I have that has the ribbon. For grins and
giggles, go to www.solsuite.com and download the trial. Publisher has more
"bells and whitles" than Soluite has. :)

I just found screenshots of what claims to be Publisher 2010 and it has the
ribbon. How accurate the data is is a completely different question;
Wikipedia isn't necessarily the ultimate source of info.

If it is, and I get on the beta, and it looks like that, my FIRST piece
of feedback will be that the commands completely need rearranging. (Why
on earth would the text tools be the defaults on the Home tab, when most
of the time they are not available, whilst the Insert options have to be
switched to when they are always in use?!)

That's not how I recall 'the ribbon' in Word 07, that looks almost
workable

How "almost"?
I find it incomprehensible & can't find what I'm looking for amongst all the
clutter.

I fail to understand why they eliminated the "customize toolbar" options in
Office07 that they used to have.

Why do they assume we all do the same (over-)abundance of tasks??? Why to
they think they know better than an individual user what is most needed &
convenient for *that user*?

Oh....I get it! they're *Microsoft!*
