Publisher 2007: Print/print preview facing pages of a booklet?

A

Amelia W.

I am designing a literary magazine that will be sent to a printing company
for publication. We are using perfect binding (so every four pages has its
own sheet), and I need to print the publication to PDF because the printer
has limited Publisher access. The printer would prefer facing pages rather
than the standard print layout, and I would prefer to look at facing pages on
the print preview rather than a layout which I'm not using.

Is this possible to do? Where is the option to change this?

It should having facing pages as soon as you change the publication to a booklet
in page setup. View, two page spread.

What size is your stock?

I can design facing pages; I would like to print (and be able to see a print
preview for) facing pages (i.e. page one on it's own page, pages 2 and 3
together, pages 4 and 5 together, and so on).

I am using 8.5"x11" paper.

Setup your printer for tabloid (11X17). If your printer cannot print tabloid use
Acrobat as the selected printer. Then change your publication to a letter
booklet. Publisher will have the pages in the correct order. Print preview will
show what page is next to what page when printing, for example the cover will be
next to the back cover.

You don't need a print preview for your facing pages since they will be facing
on the screen if you select two-page spread in the view menu.

Remember booklets have to be setup as groups of four.

Ah, good. That is what I'm looking for.

I'm having trouble finding different document types in the "Change Template"
dialog box. I could find "Letter Booklet" through the search function when
making a new document, but I can only find letter templates when searching
from an existing document. Is there another way to change document type?

I'm not sure how I did it, but I seem to have found it.

I hate it when that happens -- I finally somehow get the result I want (in
whatever s/w) but have no way to repeat the process -- it can keep me up
nights. Aarrgghhhh.
Best wishes & better luck to you.
