PUBLISHER 2007 WORD DOCUMENT

I have been asked to prepare a simple web site for a Trust. I need to have
part of the site where applicants can download a Word Doc onto their computer
and complete the application for sending. Can this be done.

Thanks

Sure.

On your website server create a folder titled downloads or files or
documents whatever you like.

Upload the Word doc file into the folder you just created.

On your website pub file make the following statement (or whatever your
choice)

Get the Trust document here.

With the mouse, highlight the word here

Select Insert, Hyperlink and in the box type

/downloads/trust.doc
OK

Upload the new website files and test the link.

Note: You can Hyperlink to a word, a phrase or an image.

In addition to DavidF suggested links; I would recommend using a fillable
PDF form rather than a Word doc...especially a .docx file.

1- Not everyone has Word, not everyone has Word 2007
2- A Word doc format may get wacky when someone tries to fill it out (lose
formatting)

A PDF will remain the same for all users.

You'll need Acrobat Pro or any Acrobat clone capable of creating fillable
forms.
You can use your existing Word doc(x) to output to Acrobat to create a PDF,
then create a fillable form from that.

Brian,

If the form is to be send by snail mail, you could create a form in a word
document and copy and paste it onto a web page. It may need a little
adjusting and you will have to make sure that all the details fit onto an A4
sheet for printing, so you will need to test it, but I have a printable
booking form on my website which works very well. The recipient can just
print it off, complete it and send.

However as Rob suggests, not everyone has Word, although I have never found
anyone who cannot print my form off. If you need applicants to send the form
by another method then you will need to try DavidF and Rob's suggestions.
