"publisher cannot open file"

a file was created in publisher yesterday and saved...this morning, I
get the above error message?

It's possible that the file was corrupt. Are you sure you are opening it
with the same version you created it with. I have two versions of Publisher
on my computer and I'll sometimes try to open a file with the wrong version,
or double click the file and the wrong version will try to open the file.
