Publisher crashes when opening a file

Hi,Publisher 2003 which is installed on my PC just started crashing without
me changing my PC. No matter what file I try to open the program crashes. The
files can be opened on another PC just fine. I am a graphic artisit and have
Quark, Photoshop, Correll installed on my PC. Adobe writer is also on there.
This is what I have done:
-Tried opeing the file on the same computer but a under a different profile
-Complete un-install and reinstall
-Repair and fix errors from the help menu within Publisher
-Installed the latest SP(2) and all the updates
I have done all this and it still doesn't work.

Here is the error message in event viewer.
Source Microsoft Office 11
Event ID: 1000

"Faulting application mspub.exe, version 11.0.6565.0, stamp 42cac959,
faulting module kn78_ui.dll, version 1.1.0.0, stamp 3dd867fa, debug? 0, fault
address 0x000031f8.

I did try and register the Pt...dll file as a Microsoft rep suggested to
another person and it wouldnt even let me register that file.

~Help please

Just an idea that I have...
You said you didn't change your PC. Did you change your default printer?
As a test, choose another default printer before you open publisher, then
try again. Does it work?

There is no definite answer to your error message here, but maybe it can
help nonetheless.

The faulting .dll is obscure. I find no reference to it anywhere. Malware?
Susanne's advice is your best bet.
