publisher custom paper size

I am using Publisher 2003 and an HP Photosmart 7660 printer. I am trying to
print on precut paper which is 5.5x8.5" I follow the directions for setting
up custom paper sizes, but when I am in publisher the custom form does not
appear. However, the custom form is set up in the printerand does show up
when not in Publisher. Any suggestions? Also is there some sort of work
around?

Did you select the custom option in the page setup after you setup your printer?
If it did not reflect the printer setting...
Use your custom page setup in your printer rather than the HP default. You should
have a custom setting on your HP, once your printer is setup, select custom in
Publisher's page setup. The page setup will reflect the printer settings.

I've used that size paper. Set up Publisher AND your printer for that size,
not just one or the other.

You should have a custom setting on your HP, once your
printer is setup, select custom in Publisher's page setup.

If you want to use the full 8.5x5.5 page, you can use Custom in your printer
driver's paper size and then Full Page in the Publisher page size.

I'm not making myself clear. I set up the custom paper size and let's say I
call it FRED. It sets up fine in the printer. When I go to Publisher there
is no form called FRED that appears under the printer that I can select. The
only thing there is the forms that were initially set up. Yet whn I go back
to the printer outside of Publisher FRED appears.

Hey Bud, you are clear, but you are not listening to the rest of us...
There is no FRED... On the toolbar, file, page setup, printer tab, setup your
printer for 5.5 x 8.5, Publisher's page setup (page setup tab) will reflect the
printer's settings. Select custom if it looks dimmed.

You don't want to create FRED outside of Publisher, go to File > Page Setup

Printer and Paper > PROPERTIES, set up FRED in there, then go to Layout

and select Full Page.
