Publisher designed site needs frontpage to work???

I have just completed my first web site built in publisher, uploaded to my
host, all working fine except for my web forms??, after pulling my hair out
for two day's I find out for my web forms to work my server must have
frontpage 98 or later, which they do, but tell me I must upload it from
frontpage!!, what does this mean??as there was no mention of this in
Publisher, how can I overcome this? are publisher and frontpage compatable???
any help would be appreciated.

You will probably get a better answer over in the publisher.webdesign
newsgroup. Not that the FrontPage people can't answer it. They are quite
knowledgeable.

Yes, apparently it uses the frontpage extensions, or a third party form
handler script.....

I'm afraid you used the wrong tool to build a site. Publisher is for desk
top publishing, not web site building!Why not FrontPage?

MS Publisher can be use to create a site and use the FP extensions for the Form function as long as
the user select the web site template in MS Publisher (2003) to create the web site.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Eleanor. Yes, you can make websites with
Publisher but Front Page is the proper tool. I feel the same way when
someone says they are using Word to make invitations or certificates.

Unfortunately the publishing part isn't quite as easy. Or at least doesn't
seem to be. Like I said, I use FP and I don't have to fuss with FTP. I'm
spoiled.

I have used it but it is far from GOOD. It makes gifs of any large text,
puts the images into weird groupings and renames them. I have a few
documents I use for PRINT and felt the need to post them quickly to the web,
without re-doing them in FP.
They have very slow load times. Publisher is a nice program easy to use and
vastly improved from the older versions. It isn't a good web design program
but it can make pages for viewing html email which is a nice option. Here

Both examples are just images!! That just isn't the way to build web pages.
A flyer, yes, but not web pages.
Second site mentioned.... an unbelieveable amount of code for just 3 images.

I just bought Office Pro 2003, and had a look at the Publisher web
templates - some a quite nice as far as the designs go.

However it would be nice though if Publisher was able to generate HTML to an
acceptable standard, rather than generate everything as VML or whatever it
does.
