I read everything that you linked too. I think I'm more confused now.
Although, I did figure out how to hyperlink the image after uploading to my
ftp folder, yet the image still does not appear on the webpage.
My addy is www.actoneproductions.net

what version of Publisher would you be using?

what is "everything"? Publishing directions are at
http://www.publishermvps.com

have you followed said directions?

#2-

see the post I posted a whole whopping two threads ago.

#Bonus-
then memorize http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=30 - there

Well since you thought to post the url, I viewed it and I now know the
issue, which I could have helped you with a long time ago if you'd stated
the version you are using.
(sometimes I want to scream because nobody tells me this simple basic
fundamental little thing)
Go download Office XP Service Pack 3 and install it ASAP.
After you install SP3 then delete the old site files and create new ones
using File, Export as web page.

Afterwards if you still need help linking to external files and you did read
my external files how to article then I'll see you back here.

Hello again,

I did what you said, (downloaded Service Pack 3), after I finished it. I
tried to delete the old files from my ftp folder but my browser wouldn't give
me the option to log into my ftp folder. I opened my Publisher file for my
website and clicked on "Export As Webpage", it quickly said, "Publish
succesful". Yet, when I opened up the page via the internet, every image was
missing! What did I do wrong?

Did you publish via Publisher or did you upload with another tool? You
should do the former to prevent the failure of uploading all the site files.
Your image files are simply not loaded. This is common and on the FAQ -

before what? I thought you hadn't had a successful publish yet?
but anyway, in a nutshell version 2002 does not support your design
techniques.

it's been a documented bug that applying a "fill" and/or a "border" to a
textbox will break any hyperlinked text in the textbox. It's on the FAQ (
http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=30 ) and on the MS Support
site. Remove fills and borders and resave and the links will function.
The "fix" for that bug is version 2003.

as for image quality they all look like normal Publisher to me. All the
fancy fill stuff with gradients and shades and what not that is in
Publisher, is best left to print publications. One just never knows how that
stuff will come out when converted to a gif, which is a format that is very
limited in it's color range. 2003 would probably do better with it as it
would probably use jpg or png. And you'd want to find a font that scales
better in Publisher since Publisher doesn't have the anti-aliasing to
prevent that jagged edge look.

I'd suggest going to
http://www.publishermvps.com/WebDesign/tabid/29/Default.aspx and reviewing
some of the Publisher sites listed. Get some ideas from them for possibly
re-thinking your design.

When using Publisher for a website it's best to keep in mind that it is a
desktop publishing (DTP) application. It is neither a graphics application
(think Digital Image Pro, PhotoShop) nor a webdesign application (think
FrontPage, Dreamweaver). So if you want to use it you have to remember it's
limitations.

Hello,

First off, I would like to say Thank You Very Much for all the help you have
given me. Second, after careful review and performing all of the actions that
you listed I believe it would be best for me to start from scratch with
FrontPage. It's a shame because I found Publisher to be very "user-friendly"
when I started and it's turned out to be a total nightmare. My website looks
insane now and I'm worried because I use it frequently for business and I
can't get it back to what it looked like before without the photos. I could
have at least worked with that while rebuilding the new site in FrontPage.
Once again, I do truly appreciate your time, you really know your stuff.
Thank you. I will check back here for any future reference.
