Publisher Help

Lately here on the Publisher forum there has been a lot of dissention and
putting people down that are doing their best to help those who ask for
help. I have learned a lot about publisher and its shortcomings and have
been able to build web sites that function in a manner that is acceptable to
me and many others. For those like myself that are here to learn, it would
be nice to see all the negative comments go to a place where they fit better
and leave this a place to help Publisher users make the best use of the
program. So it's not perfect, so are a lot of other programs, but it is the
one we chose to work with. For those who are helping with positive
constructive comments and help, KEEP IT UP! For those who do not like
Publisher, go to the forum of the program of your choice and let this get
back to where it was.

Well put, "Unknown".
I completely agree with you, but it's not a new phenomenon. I can remember
this sort of thing going on already in the early/mid 2000s. It wouldn't
surprise me if they got paid to promote other software on this forum. Why
else would they hang around anyway?

It wouldn't be so bad if they answered a request for help with the
description of a procedure or technique applicable to PUBLISHER or perhaps an
HTML or Javascript coding sequence where needed, before launching into their
rhetorical rants against using Publisher. But they rarely do, if at all.

Meanwhile, keep up the good work David Bartosik, DavidF, Don Schmidt, and a
few others.

I can assure you I am not paid by anyone for my opinions.
I have been fixing computers since 1965 so I think I know a little but still
learn somthing most days.
I did use Publisher for some time and I still use it for the things it was
designed to do but_
I found a better way to do Web pages and have once or twice gently said so.

By the way if I think I can contribute to the disscusion I often do trying
to keep to the facts.

I sense that the original posting by "Anonymous Poster" was aimed towards
someone else. Just a guess!
