Why-oh-why would you send anyone to the web interface for the newsgroup.
You are just asking them to have issues.
You should have told them to create a new newsgroup account in their Outlook
Express program for news.microsoft.com or msnews.microsoft.com and then
gotten all of Microsoft's newsgroups from that account. I do this and I am
happy with the server as it is fast and has all the current MS newsgroups
and I can also use this newsgroup method on Vista's Mail or Windows Live
Mail depending on what machine I am using or wherever I connect to the
internet (as long as they don't block newsgroup access.)
TO THE OP:
Follow my advice for all Microsoft newsgroups. I would suspect that your
ISP has dropped that or possibly more newsgroups from their server. Many
ISPs don't mirror many of the various newsgroups that are floating on the
internet. For all other newsgroups I use news.motzarella.org (see
www.motzarella.org for signup instructions) which is a free news server and
I am extremely happy with them. I do not use my ISP's servers anymore since
I can't post messages through their ISP when I am not connected to them. I
currently am posting this from my laptop while on vacation in Las Vegas. I
couldn't do that if I was using my ISP's servers.
