Publisher SB Edition 2003 Keeps Shutting Down

Please help, everytime I try to open a file in publisher I get an error
message and it keeps shutting down, the message states 'publisher failed to
start correctly - do you want to open in safe mode' (i'm not very technical
so any help would be great) Thanks
