Publisher Templates

I am using Publisher 2003 on Win XP Pro.

Recently I purchased some labels for DVD use but the Avery number is not
currently available within the Publisher list. However, I found that Avery
in the UK has a Word template for this label number and I now need some
"plain English", easy to follow instructions of how to import this Word
template into Publisher. TIA.

What is the template number? More times than not there will an equivalent in
Publisher.

May I butt in on this topic. I don't much about Publisher, but I recently
checked out the question of whether putting labels on CDs could lead to
problems. The consensus I found in a search of news groups and CD recording
fan sites, such as www.cdfreaks.com, was that applying labels could lead to
problems, ranging from balance problems to having the disks become
unplayable in the future. Worst of all, the labels could lift off in the
heat of the disk player and mess up the mechanism and laser. On the other
hand, some people said they have been using labels for years on hundreds of
disks with no difficulties.

Personally, I don't know how much credence to give the postings I saw, but I
wouldn't try to attach a label on a disk I especially valued, such as an
archive of family photos. You can get high quality writable CD's and DVD's
that you can print on direct using an inkjet printer or heat printing.

If you decide to simply use a marker pen instead of labels, you might want
to get a special marker for the purpose that uses water-base ink rather than
solvent-based. I use a marker made specifically for labeling disks by MAM-A
($3) that looks and writes about like a Sharpie, but presumably does not
interact with the disk's coating.
