Publisher websites - Open in new window

Hi Don

The links go to where I want them to, but it opens them on the same page.
Other websites show it is possible to click on a link to another page or
website and it will automatically open in a new window. This is what I want
to know - if Publisher is able to do, and if it is, how to do it. Otherwise,
if I design a website with links to other sites the user may not go back to
my own site if a new page from a different website has appeared on top when
clicking a link.

Thanks for your help/suggestions
Ruth

I don't think a Publisher site will open a separate window for a linked
site. Your visitor can use the Back button and it will return the view back
to your site.

I think Publisher is a first step into website building and once you develop
a strong interest, you go onto a more website construction program or in the
case of my "Sweetie" (teenage daughter) you build a site in a text editor
plunking out html code.

Myself, I'm Publisher 2000 website builder, and have reached my intelligence
limit. Although, I do have a copy of Dreamweaver on the shelf and may in a
weak moment get the curiosity to give it a try.

Thanks anyway Don

I thought it may not be possible, but just wanted to check it out anyway.
I'm pretty crap with computers, and wouldn't be able to use more advanced web
designing software, so I guess I'm stuck with the limitations of Publisher.

I build websites for charities, and have one of my own.
www.holdinghands-international.org. I have also build www.tndwws.org and
www.actindiafoundation.org and a very rushed job www.sacewd.org. All have
been done with publisher.

I am in the process of overhauling and re-building my holdinghands site, and
want to make it better. If I get stuck again in the future, would you mind if
I contacted you directly?

I would never be able to do what your daughter has been doing, as I really
only use computers for net surfing, e-mail and Word!! HTML is a whole other
language totally foreign to me!

Thanks and good luck with dreamweaver
