I have tried for hours to find an urgently required Publisher 2000+ without
success. Why is it not possible to download this programmme when word,
excel etc can be downloaded.

You can't download these programs - at least not legally. (I don't know
about sites that are offering illegal software downloads because I try not
to break the law.)

You need to purchase these programs.

There is a downloadable trial of the latest version of Office Standard.

Microsoft chose not to make a downloadable trial of Publisher 2003 available
due to bandwidth constraints - it would not have been possible to remove all
the templates that are built-in to Publisher, so it would have made the
download unsuitably large.

I know about the trial version of Office but I would think that a trial
version isn't what the OP was told she could download.

Well, it is a legally downloadable version of Word, Excel, etc. in a way
that Publisher isn't.

)

Yep - but I still think someone gave her bad information.
